Awards for Young Musicians

Awards between £200 and £2000 and are available to young people aged 5 to 18 to contribute towards expenses such as teaching, course fees, travel and instrument purchases. Closing date Friday 4 April.

Music Matters - BBC Radio 3 Looking for Programme Ideas

Are you organising a community or school-based classical, world or jazz musical project? If so, BBC Radio 3 might be interested in covering it. Music Matters is back on air until July 2008

Charity Commission £1000 monthly draw 

The Charity Commission holds a random £1,000 monthly prize draw to encourage smaller charities with an income of under £250,000 to use its online services.

An on-line tax guide has been launched explaining how to give efficiently and effectively to the arts. It includes simple information demonstrating that, contrary to popular belief, it has never been easier to give to the arts and the tax benefits have never been greater.

Volunteers and the Law Seminar - free

Tuesday 5 February, 6.00pm-8.30pm, Central Manchester

Volunteering Manchester has organised a seminar for voluntary organisations or groups who work with/use volunteers in the Manchester City boundaries. It will provide a whistle stop tour through the current major issues affecting volunteer involving organisations with an opportunity to network afterwards.

Funding Update

New Start Funding Scheme, Wigan

Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust are seeking applications from community groups and voluntary arts groups in Wigan. Up to £1000 is available to community groups and voluntary arts groups to support the development of new arts skills or activities, as well as attracting new members.

Funding for Poulton Groups

Musicians Benevolent Fund

The MBF run a number of award schemes which provide financial support to highly talented young musicians. They also provide funding to organisations that provide specialist training and performance opportunities to those at the outset of their professional music careers.

The Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust
