Summer Orchestral Weekend 15-17 August 2008 Ellesmere College, Ellesmere, Shropshire The weekend will be directed by Eric Jennings, former principal trombone with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Playing will start on Friday evening, with further sessions on Saturday morning/evening, and Sunday morning/afternoon. The course will end after tea on Sunday afternoon. The three main works that we’ll be playing this year are Wagner’s Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin, Tchaikovsky’s Ballet Suite Sleeping Beauty and Shostakovich Symphony No 10. On Saturday afternoon there will be an opportunity to play in chamber groups or to take a rest! A choral workshop led by Edward Caswell 11 October 2008 Ripley St Thomas CE High School, Lancaster An introduction to James MacMillan's St John Passion.
